January 4, 2020 – School Reopens

Happy New Year and welcome back!!!  Here’s to hoping your holiday was safe and restful, and that you are all recharged and was able to squeeze in some relaxation and family time over the holiday. For me and my family, we are most grateful for the time to be together, enjoying each other’s company, visiting family and friends, and feeling the relief of having no deadlines, homework, or the pressure to get things done. 

As we begin the New Year, and the start of the second semester, we have an opportunity to reflect on the tremendous work we have been doing since September.  This upcoming month will be just as busy for our school as we prepare for the Language final exam for the first half, upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations and CNY performances.  Please reach out to the PA Director <mfcspadir@gmail.com> or Culture Director <mfcsculturedir@gmail.com> to find out about volunteering and how you can help.  You can also reach out to me directly to find out how you can help.

January 11, 2020 – Language Final Exam for the First Half 

Monmouth Fidelity Chinese School T-Shirt Logo Contest 

To celebrate the rebranding of our school name to “Monmouth Fidelity Chinese School” 維德孟華中文學校, we would like to use a unique student inspired logo on the front of this year’s t-shirts for our school.  We are holding a logo contest to select one unique logo to represent our school this year.  We welcome submissions from all grades.

Submission rules:

  • Must be a current active and enrolled student
  • Must be an original design 
  • Include the words “Monmouth Fidelity Chinese School” and 維德孟華中文學校
  • Designs should be suitable for an imprint area measuring  4” x 4”, 5″ x 5″ or 6″ x 6″
  • Submit a printed copy to Cultural or Language desk
  • Include your name, language class (or culture), phone # and email address on the back of your submission.
  • Deadline for submissions is Saturday January 11, 2020
  • The logo design winner will be notified by Saturday January 18, 2020.

The winner will receive a complimentary t-shirt with their winning design imprinted and a $25 Amazon gift card.

Dragon dance team practice
Practice will be held in the auditorium  at 10:45am to 11:15am

Lion Dance Volunteers Needed For Our Chinese New Year Performance We are looking for student and parent volunteers to help with the Chinese New Year Performance.  We are looking for 6 volunteers for the Lion and 4 for drums, symbols and gongs.  Students will receive volunteer hours.   Practice will be held on Jan-4 and Jan-11.  If you are interested and for additional details please contact Larry Chan at MFCS Vice Principal <mfcsviceprincipal@gmail.com> 

Drop in for Yoga! Can’t commit to yoga class on a weekly basis? For our adults who have not signed up for membership already, we are now offering an opportunity for you to take yoga classes with no commitment.  You can sign up before Friday for yoga class and pay $3 for class.   All proceeds will go to the school.  Note this fee does not apply if you have already signed up for the annual membership.

Great way to get that last minute stretch in.   Passes are from 11:15-12:15.  Class will meet instructor in cafeteria by culture desk.
