What a wonderful and successful first day! My greatest appreciation goes out to our committed administration, staff, teachers, TAs, students and parents for making our first day successful. I am continually impressed with the amount of time and energy the staff puts into making sure our school is successful! They are an incredibly talented group who want nothing but the best for our students and families. I would personally like to thank our teachers, parents, students, staff and the Administration for making our first day successful!!

Introducing MFCS Help Portal
We are excited to introduce the new MFCS Help Portal. Getting all of your questions answered by the staff or getting help with issues, or questions about accessing the virtual classrooms, just got even easier with the MFCS Help Portal. Rather than sending emails and waiting for a response our Help Portal will allow you to easily interact with our staff. The Help Portal is a simple and convenient way to contact the staff during school hours. Simply contact the MFCS on their Zoom Support account and a staff member will be available to assist. The Help Portal is available to parents and students every Saturday, when school is open, from 9:00 AM thru 12:15 PM.

Textbook Pickup Day (Mandarin Class Only): Saturday September-19 Between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM
Textbooks for Mandarin Class can be picked up at the Marlboro Middle School (MMS) parking lot on Saturday September-19 between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Details below. Please arrive during your child’s allotted grade slot to ensure you receive your textbook.
9:00 – 9:10 7th Grade
9:10 – 9:20 6th Grade
9:20 – 9:30 3rd/4th Grade
9:30 – 9:40 1st/2nd Grade
9:40 – 9:50 CSL-4 Grade
9:50 – 10:00 All Grades

Culture Department
General Announcements
Reminder: Culture classes start Saturday September-19 at 11:15 (Chinese Yo-Yo starts at 11:45AM). Please see below for details for each Culture class. Please note we are still accepting registration for Culture classes. Please email the Culture department at culture@njmfcs.org if you are interested in joining one of our amazing Culture classes.
Reminder: Students in the Chinese Brush Painting & Calligraphy call are required to have the required list of supplies to participate in this class. Parents were emailed instructions on how to obtain their supplies. Most supplies are provided by MFCS. Please email the Culture department at culture@njmfcs.org if you need help getting your supplies.
Chinese Brush Painting & Chinese Calligraphy (國畫 & 書法) – Lead by Ms. Hua Jiang (姜華) – Classes presented via Zoom
With Chinese Brush Painting instructions, Students will learn to make simple brush strokes to create vivid images of flowers, birds, fish, bamboo, and more while also practicing how to incorporate texture and unique wash techniques. With Chinese Calligraphy instructions, students will learn how to correctly hold and use a brush to write words in traditional Chinese in forms of poems, short scrolls, characters, and word pairings ideographs. This way they may transform everyday Chinese characters into beautiful works of art using traditional brushes and paper.
Chinese Traditional Dance (中國傳統舞蹈) – Lead by Ms. Kara Lui – Classes presented via Zoom
Students will learn a variety of Chinese traditional dancing using ribbons, fans, swords, long sleeves, baskets, etc in many different ethnic styles.
Chinese Folk Dance (中國民俗舞蹈) – Lead by Ms. Kelly Chin (陳杰蓮) – Classes presented via Zoom
Student learn a variety Chinese Folk Dance techniques and routines, include Tai Chi Fan Dance, Chinese Ribbon Dance and Chinese Sword Dance
Chinese Chess (象棋) – Lead by Mr. Peter Tan (陳世俊) – Classes presented via Zoom & applicable Online Chinese Chess Software
Students learn strategy as well as improve their skills in the ancient game of Chinese chess
Chinese Yo-Yo (扯鈴) – Lead by Mr. Kevin Lam (林智誠) and Mr. Jared Chiou (邱杰倫) – Classes presented via Outdoor Session & Google Classroom
This class will be presented in an outdoor setting, weather permitting, with social distancing enforced. Each instructor will oversee 3 to 5 students. Students must maintain 12 foot distance and wear a mask throughout the session (instructors will enforce this policy). This class will start at 11:45AM and end at 12:45PM. During inclement weather, classes will be held via Google Classroom and pre-recorded tricks videos will be assigned for students to review. Students learn how to spin the yo-yo and then increasingly challenging tricks. They will be required to practice at home to master their tricks. Students are encouraged to participate in a variety of performances. Depending on their skill levels, they might be invited to a variety of competitions in the future. Yo-Yos will be needed every class. If your child needs a yo-yo, please ask the teacher about where to buy one.
Reminder: The Yo-Yo class will hold their first session at the Marlboro Township Recreation Community Center, 996 Recreation Way, Marlboro Township, NJ. Please see the map below of the parking and meeting location in the field. Class starts at 11:45 AM

Free “English as a Second Language” (ESL) classes offered by the Monmouth Community Christian Church (MCCC) in Middletown. Please see attachment or full details.
Online courses with the fall classes beginning on Tuesday, 9/15/2020. There are 5 classes: 3 meeting on Tuesday, and 2 meeting on Friday (although schedule could still be changed):
1. Basic English (基本班): Tues, 10-12 AM
2. Beginners English (初級班): Tues, 10-12 AM
3. Intermediate English (中级班 ): Tues, 10-12 AM
4. Intermediate Conversation and Writing (中級會話與寫作班): Fri. 9:30-11:30 AM
